Dr. Manohar Mahato is an Associate Professor of Practice in the Department of Design at Netaji Subhas University of Technology. He earned his PhD in Design from Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati and invented a patented (Patent no - 529753) and commercialized semi-automatic handloom. With over 13 years of industry experience and more than 3 years in academia, he specializes in product innovation, ergonomics, manufacturing systems, interactive product design, XR design, design management, and entrepreneurship. He has worked on diverse industrial projects for leading companies including Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, Eicher Motors, TVS Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Telcon, JCB, Caterpillar, Bush Hog, VW, BMW, Daimler, General Motors, Ford Motors, DuPont, Slush Solution Technology and CS Aerotherm. His project portfolio includes innovations such as amphibious excavators, automotive axle components, and Body-in-White tooling systems. Dr. Mahato focuses on translating ideas into market-ready products with strong emphasis on intellectual property and technology commercialization. He has also participated in international academic workshops and collaborations in Sweden, Israel, and Finland.
